Health Care Reform Was Universal Health Care the Answer...

What is universal health care? Universal health care is a form of health coverage which is provided by a government so that all of its citizens have access to health services. In the universal health care is a system of providing health coverage for any and all willing participants. This is usually through a government program, funded by taxes. The United States is the only developed country in the world to not have a universal health care system for its citizens. Medicaid and Medicare do not count because they target a select group of citizens. It is important to note the distinction between universal health care and socialized medicine before we proceed. Many people confuse the terms. Under universal health care hospitals,†¦show more content†¦Private coverage would include, but are not limited to companies such as Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem. Both sides are concerned with the financial strain on the government as well as the high premiums passed down to the insured. Health Care Reform Supporters of health reform also want patients to have more rights to better quality health care. Under the current system, certain providers only except certain insurances or self-pay patients. A universal system would allow patients to go to the doctor of their choice and give incentive to have preventative care screenings to improve overall wellness. However, critics argue that under the new reforms, patients may have to wait for appointments for specialty services. Those in opposition of the current plan for health care reform argue that the answer is not simply UHC system. All would agree that the ultimate goal is to improve the cost of overall health care in the United States. America’s current public-private system is the most expensive in the world. We spend more per capita than anywhere else in the world. Our health care expenses are a major portion of our countries Gross Domestic Product. Some argue that is just the preview of what would result from governme nt ran UHC. In Canada, patients complain of long waits to see their providers for specialty care. Introduction to Marketing Honda Accord

Question: Discuss about the Intoduction to Marketingfor Honda Accord. Answer: Introduction: A customer buys services or products for his or her personal use. The behaviour of the consumer during buying particular products or availing a specific service is regarded as the buying behaviour. The buying behaviour also involves the act of people during buying and using of products. The buying behaviour of and individual includes the need of understanding the reasons for which the consumers make the purchase, the factors that influence the purchases made by the consumers along with the altering factors prevailing in the society. It also refers to the process of buying and selecting the products and the satisfaction derived from the usage of the products (Ahn, Cho Han, 2014). The analysis of the buying behaviour has to be done by the organizations or companies so as to know the reaction of the buyers to the impact of the marketing strategy of the company in contributing to the success of the company. The success of the marketing mix is also enhanced by the analysis of the buying behaviour of the customer. Company and Product Background: Honda Accord is a brand name in the world of cars that specializes in the four-wheel drive that is owned by the Japanese multinational manufacturer Honda. Presently, the Honda Accord is owned by Honda Motor Co. Ltd., which is a leading Brand. Honda Accord developed into an iconic brand that encompasses in to a range of four wheelers. Honda Accords are assembled in the plants situated in Tokyo (automobiles.honda.com, 2017). The development and research of the Honda Accord are taking place at the Tokyo engineering centres. The cars of the Honda Accord were manufactured in the plants presented at various place all over the world. The concepts of the Honda Accord are the fort concept vehicle that later became very popular. The second concept of the Honda Accord is the Honda Accord LR version which had the ERAD technology (automobiles.honda.com, 2017). This car was launched as the Honda Accord in various models. This model happens to be the first Honda product to have front wheel drive without any low ratio transfer box. The Sedan Honda Accord Sport is the model of concept vehicle that was designed to replace the Honda Accord Ex. On the other hand, the replacement of Honda Accord Ex will not be exactly like the Sedan Honda Accord Sport concept. The Discovery Vision Concept of the Honda Accord Touring is the fourth concept vehicle that was designed to replace the Honda Accord EX (automobiles.honda.com, 2017). The Decision Making Process Mark is an entrepreneur who has his own restaurant running in Melbourne. He is a Master in Business and graduated from the University of Melbourne. He has been a successful entrepreneur at the age of 30. Mark also had a bachelor of Business degree before he pursued the Master's degree. He is currently staying in Melbourne and aims at expanding his business globally. He decided to choose Honda Accord as his new car. The second respondent for our case is Susan who is a wedding planner in Melbourne. At the age of 42, she has been one of the leading wedding planners in Australia. She completed her Bachelor in Technology degree in the computer science branch in the University of Sydney. After the completion of the engineering degree, she was working in the Information Technology industry before she decided to make her own company where she could experiment with her creativity and passion in the wedding planning sector. She has been in the wedding planning industry for last 18 years and has gained the name, respect, and fame in the industry. After constant research and suggestions, she went on the decision to buy a Honda Accord. The decision making is the process of making decision or choices regarding the identification of a decision, gathering information regarding the product and analyzing the alternative resolutions. Implementation of the steps of the decision-making facilitates in making a deliberate decision. The process of buying behaviour is very vital for the marketing decision of Honda Accord (Burns Bush, 2013). The process of buying behaviour includes the stages that the consumer undergoes through before, during and post buying the product or service, i.e. Honda Accord in this case in the decision making process. The first stage of the buying behaviour and decision-making process includes the identification or recognition of the need of the consumers to buy the product. Mark and Susan could understand the issues or concern that they had in between the state of desired motivation and currently motivated state. Mark stated that he wanted a car that had a good reputation and brand name in the car industry. He also wanted a car that would have a convertible body style (Camerer Yoon, 2015). On the other hand, Susan was looking for a vehicle that has the advanced technologies with an In-control Touch that would help her in gaining more control over the vehicle which influenced her to choose Honda Accord (Sheth Sisodia, 2015). Customers have to go through the stages of the decision-making process in buying the product. In regards to daily purchases, the consumers need to go through the research and evaluation of the information related to the products. However, in this case, the research and evaluation stage could not be ignored by Mark and Susan as purchasing a branded four-wheeler is not a daily purchase rather is a luxury purchase. Therefore, proper research and evaluating the information was done by Mark and Susan (Fill Turnbull, 2016). Purchasing Decision The purchasing of Honda Accord by Mark and Susan was limited by characteristics as the investment made is nominal and at the same time, they would make regular use of their cars. The time period of this limited decision making was completely dependent on the experience of the customers, i.e. Mark and Susan and their knowledge about Sedan Honda Accord as well as the amount of time they had taken to make the decision. According to Gbadamosi, Bathgate Nwankwo both Mark and Susan had made research online where they could gather all the information that was required for them by sitting at home and even while at work (Gbadamosi, Bathgate Nwankwo, 2013). Both these costumers had evaluated the alternatives along the process of evaluation which the alternatives to the customer's evaluation was bound by the choice set by using the information (Weaver, 2014). Both of the customers had been using cars of other brands and were used to using the same cars again and again. They wanted to buy a car with advanced features and technology that would make their driving experience better. The purchase was high involvement in nature as the purchase was made of a branded product involving high expenses. Therefore, buying a Honda Accord is a high involvement purchase (Hair Jr Lukas, 2014). The fourth stage relates to the purchase that Mark and Susan made after going through the internet in order to satisfy their needs. As per Ivanov, et al, the buying decision took place after some weeks of evaluation of the information. Both of them had to go through the test drive so as to gain assurance of their selection of the vehicle. The final stage includes the post-purchase evaluation of the cars that they both brought (Ivanov, et al., 2013). Both of them felt much more comfortable in driving Sedan Honda Accord. Both of them reviewed that the technology involved in the functioning of the car made the driving experience much more rewarding and outstanding (Weinstein, 2013). According to McKenzie-Mohr, the process of perception, motivation, attitude and learning relates to the internal process of a psychological core that is involved in the decision-making process. The perception of the both the customers on being exposed to the external aspects of the vehicles caught their attention. Attention and exposure make up only a part of the available information. On the other hand, learning from the experiences makes a long-term impact on the memory. It could be learned that there are two situations in learning such as low and high involvement learning (McKenzie-Mohr, 2013). The situation of high-involvement learning, in this case, was motivated by the process of learning by the experience of the customers while buying the vehicle. It was found that the customers could experience the real specifications of the vehicle and the difference in driving other cars. The personal involvement in analyzing the features and gaining control of the vehicle through advanced technology made the difference and enhanced the driving experience of the customers (Proctor, 2014). Conclusion: The buying behaviour of the customers was discussed and analyzed in brief in the assignment. The stages of decision making were described with respect to the buying behaviour of the customers buying Honda Accord. The factors that influence the customers to buy the product were illustrated. It was observed that the external sources of information do not determine the satisfaction for the customers after buying the products. The personal experience of the customers both before and after purchasing the product determines the satisfaction of the customers. Therefore, to obtain customer satisfaction, the buying behaviour and decision-making process have to be monitored by the organization for effective marketing and sales. Affirmative Action Essays (964 words) - Discrimination,

Affirmative Action One of the most recent civil rights policies is Affirmative action. Affirmative action is loosely defined as lower educational standards for minorities, and a certain quota of minorities is to be met by employers. Affirmative action is wrong and will not help solve the problems minorities face. The reason it is wrong is because it's discrimination. It has no place in today's society because it does more bad than good. In addition to that, most people don't enjoy the presence of affirmative action. Also, it appears that affirmative action can actually be detrimental to employees health. First of all, affirmative action is discrimination, there is no hiding it. When an employer hires anyone because he or she is a minority, even if someone else is more qualified to do the job, it is discrimination. Just because it is reverse discrimination, when whites are discriminated against and minorities are being discriminated for, doesn't make it right. Affirmative action legalizes discrimination. I thought discrimination was illegal in this country. Also , if this discrimination continues racism in the United States may become worse. Imagine what you would feel like if you couldn't get a job just because you are a white man and not a Hispanic man. The racism will become worse because of it, and that is the very thing it is trying to prevent. It is possible that because of affirmative action, racism will grow and continue to grow. In addition to that, people say affirmative action is okay because it cures past discrimination. Discrimination wasn't okay when blacks were the ones getting the short end of the stick. Therefore it's not okay when whites are discriminated against. Two wrongs don't make a right. Therefore, affirmative action doesn't make discrimination ok just because it's against blacks instead of whites. Affirmative action in college is the most discriminating thing this country has ever seen. At ivy league colleges the median GPA of applicants close to 4.0 and SATs are close to 1300, minorities are let in with GPA's less than 3.0 and SATs less than 1000. The only way for colleges to achieve ethnic proportionalism is to downplay or abandon merit criteria and to accept students from typically under represented groups, such as blacks, Hispanics, and American Indians, over better qualified students from among whites and Asian Americans. Obviously, affirmative action is allowing undereducated citizens to get into college when the people that are qualified aren't getting accepted when they should. When we passed the equal opportunities law, it didn't mean treat different races differently , it means we should treat all people as equals, affirmative action doesn't treat everyone as equals. If we lower acceptance standards for minorities, we should lower standards for everyone. Since nobody would do that we should raise the standard for minorities. In addition, if affirmative action gets its way, it will do more harm than good. Affirmative action will only work short term because if you hire a minority that's under qualified they'll eventually get fired. Also, you can only hire so many people, eventually you'll get too much under qualified people working for you and you'll eventually have to abandon affirmative action all together. Also, affirmative action doesn't work because it doesn't change anything. If there is racism in to day's modern age, then racism will always be present and affirmative action won't work. In addition if we need to discriminate against white people to give minorities jobs now, it won't change. Giving someone a job won't do any good in making the quality of life of minorities better. Just because you enroll more minorities in your college, doesn't mean you're making the playing field even. When someone isn't good enough to get into a certain college, they're out of their league when they get in. To give minorities a better life we have to fix the moral decay caused by the absence of two parent families to help minorities. Affirmative action is also insulting to minorities because they may feel they have to be helped out just to get a job. A minority that benefits form affirmative action may feel that they're inadequate for the job they were hired for. Every employee that benefits from affirmative action bears

The first binary system Essays

The first binary system Essays The first binary system Essay The first binary system Essay This essay will look at the history of computers, beginning from Stonehenge and going right through to today. It will look at what the future holds for the world of computing and I will try to determine the start of this particular technology. It will go on to discuss the computers of today and more importantly what the future holds for computers. I will try to briefly out line the history of the computer, presenting my findings chronologically. The continuous progression of the computer has lead us to the advanced machines they are today and offer us an insight into the pattern of future developments. Throughout the essay I will include information from a number of different resources, which I will use to explain and analyse my findings. I have traced the first findings of computer science back to many years ago when man still dwelled in caves. The religious and animalistic traditions of early man required instruments to calculate particular religious dates. From this Shamanistic traditions man created a primitive calculating device, counting notches on sticks or marks on walls. This primitive technique evolved and big Stonehenge structures were erected, these can still be seen today in Salisbury England. The enormous structures are today monuments of mans desire to calculate and compute information. Over on the other side of the globe in china the abacus was born. The abacus aided the calculation process and therefore must be considered a computing device. The way the abacus works shares similarities with the dictionaries definition of a computer. This is the place value notion and the retrieve and store method mentioned in the dictionary. Twelve centuries later, an 18-year-old taxpayers son invented a numerical wheel to help his father calculate tax. The device was called a Pacaline named after its creator. The problem with the Pascalator is that it could only be repaired by Pascaline. This resulted in job loss and techno phobia which still occurs today. The device was later improved and can still be found today in water meters and modern day odometers. The real beginning of the computer as we know them today is a result of the English mathematician Charles Babbage. He hoped there would one day be an automated computer powered by steam. It was never constructed, but outlined the elements of the modern day general-purpose computer. Babbages computer was a real analytical engine, it had built in control and allowed instructions to be represented in specific order, rather then numerical order. An American inventor set a task to create a faster computer using the jacquard loom concept. The computing process used cards to store dates, this differed from previous methods, which used cards to instruct the computer. This system enabled the computer to work faster, store more information, and resulted in fewer errors. The creator Hollerith brought his machine, known as the punch card reader, in to the business world. The company later became the International Business Machine or IBM. The punch card system become very popular in the 60s and was used by business and the government. Holleriths machine was limited to certain tabulation and could not accommodate more complex forms. The first binary system was developed by a German in 1941. The binary system was a programmable computer design composed of zeros and ones. The binary representation proved important in the design of modern day computers.  The punch card machine became so well established and reliable, that Howard Aiken collaborated with the engineers at IBM and refined the IBMs standard automated computer to build the Howard Mark 1. The Mark 1 remained in use until 1959, even thought other machines had surpassed it in performance. It provided vital calculations for the navy in world war two. Meanwhile over in Great Britain a mathematician named Alan turning wrote a paper called Computable numbers. Alan Turnings paper described a hypothetical device that presaged programmable computers. The Turning machine was designed to perform logical operations and could read, write, or erase symbols that were written on squares of a infinite paper tape. The purpose of turnings paper was not to invent a computer but rather to describe problems that are logically possible to solve. Turnings hypothetical machine has characteristics that resemble modern day computers. The hypothetical machines memory allows it to read, write, and erase data, just like modern day RAM. Back in America the Havard Mark 1 was highly successful opening doors for further developments by Americans computer giants. The second contribution to the computing world was the ENIAC or electrical Numerical integrator. ENIAC is generally considered to be the first successful high speed digital computer and was used from 1946 to 1955.

Business architecture definition (IT) Research Paper

Business architecture definition (IT) - Research Paper Example Typically, the business architecture artifacts and practices in business architecture frameworks concentrate on business processes and business applications. Business architecture should help business reap the benefit of business agility and visibility and must reflect the full business design, from the point of analysis of business owners and designers, rather than IT solution delivery (Born, 2012). The connection between business architecture and IT (information technology) is two-fold (Born, 2012). Primary, business architecture is a vital input to IT scheduling, business solution delivery and technology architecture. Subsequent, IT capabilities and technology trends influence business design selection in the realms of capacities, processes, value chains, and channel. Adopt-A-Farm is an online business platform that involves connections between the citizens and farmers (Adopt-A-Farm, 2014). Leadership Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words - 7

Leadership - Essay Example ept of leadership from the perspective of leader-follower exchange theory is that followers follow because they get something from being followers and leaders provide some value that benefits followers. Followers respond in ways that benefit the leader. Current approach has a few dimensions that shape the concept of leader and leadership. Leaders provide vision and direction to their followers. They provide answers to the questions, â€Å"Where are we going? What are our objectives? What are we trying to achieve?† In some cases these objectives are modest and concrete, but in others the vision is quite grand. Some authors (Collins & Porras, 1994) have described the vision as a BHAG, a â€Å"big, hairy, audacious, goal. † It is a vision that says we are here to do more than meet our numbers or to pass the next inspection. We are here, in this group or organization, for a far grander purpose. So the vision not only provides a sense of direction, it can also provide â€Å"meaning, † or an answer to the question, â€Å"Why are we here?† A second benefit that a leader can provide is security and protection for followers. This is an important function in military contexts and also in corporate and political domains. In extreme cases leaders can place themselves in harms way to protect followers. Less extreme versions of this type of behavior can be seen when executives put their own careers in jeopardy to argue against laying off subordinates, or when political leaders take risks to protect the interests of their constituencies. In hostile environments, be they military or economic, leaders place their personal wellbeing at risk to shield their followers. Through the completion of group or organizational tasks, leaders allow their followers to achieve goals that would be difficult or impossible to achieve by one person alone or by a group without the leader. The need to be effective is one of the frequently overlooked human motives. There are many goals that can only be
